What to expect
Decay removal
All infected and soft tooth structure is removed under local anaesthetic.
Shade matching
Composite resin is selected to match your tooth colour precisely across multiple shade guides.
Layered bonding
Resin is applied in layers and each layer is cured with UV light for maximum strength.
Shaping & polish
The filling is shaped to your natural bite anatomy, then polished for a smooth, natural finish.

Before & after your treatment
Before Treatment
- ›No special preparation needed — eat normally before the appointment
- ›If you're anxious, let us know when booking — we allocate more time and explain each step
- ›If sensitivity is severe, take an over-the-counter pain reliever before you arrive
After Treatment
- ›Avoid eating until the local anaesthetic wears off — you may bite your cheek or tongue without realising
- ›Mild sensitivity to cold is common for the first 1–2 weeks
- ›Avoid very hard foods for 24 hours while the composite fully hardens
- ›Maintain regular brushing and flossing — fillings can develop secondary decay at the margins if oral hygiene is poor

Common questions about Fillings
How long do fillings last?
Composite fillings typically last 7–10 years. Biting on very hard objects (ice, bones) reduces longevity.
Do I need anaesthetic?
Yes, for your comfort. The injection is the only moment of discomfort. The filling itself is entirely painless.
What if I leave a cavity untreated?
The cavity grows — through enamel, into dentine, then to the pulp. What costs PKR 3,500 today may require a PKR 12,000+ root canal in six months.
Are white fillings as strong as silver?
Modern composite is strong enough for most restorations. Silver amalgam fillings are no longer used in our practice.
Can fillings fall out?
Yes — if the bonding interface is stressed or the filling is very large. We'll advise on the best restoration type for the size of your cavity.
Is the composite BPA-free?
Yes. We only use BPA-free, certified dental composite resin from established manufacturers.
